Kainuu Trail 2026 set a brilliant new participant record!

The 6th edition of the Kainuu Trail running event on 27 June 2026 concluded in record-breaking style!

We would like to cordially thank every runner and spectator, our incredibly amazing volunteer crew, Metsähallitus (Parks & Wildlife Finland) and Hossa National Park, all our important partners, and other stakeholders who helped make this summer''s trail running celebration possible in the embrace of Hossa''s crystal-clear waters and magnificent ridges. Thanks to you, the event was once again a success, and the atmosphere along the routes and at the competition center was pleasantly relaxed and wonderful!

This year we broke records once again, as Kainuu Trail achieved its all-time largest number of participants for the fourth consecutive year.

The popularity of the Kainuu Trail trail running event remains red hot!

On Monday, June 15th, the final regular-priced registration phase came to a close, and the number of participants is fast approaching the maximum limit of 700 runners. Currently, a total of 667 runners have registered for the event. At the same time, cancellations and transfers to the following year are always a part of the process, which is why the currently confirmed number of participants on the start line is 627.
