Responsibility

Kainuu Trail is organized with a strong commitment to responsibility.

One of the key aspects of our responsibility is environmental sustainability.

Guide to Organizing an Ecologically Responsible Event

In collaboration with South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Roosa Ravantti & Kati Silvast 2024), we have created a guide for organizing responsible events: Guide to Organizing an Ecologically Responsible Event

The principles outlined in this guide serve as a framework for organizing the Kainuu Trail event, and we strive to follow them comprehensively and adaptively.

The guide is specifically designed for organizing ecologically responsible events in Hossa National Park.

It provides information, tips, and useful links for hosting an ecologically responsible event in a national park.

The guide's content is based on feedback from the 2023 Kainuu Trail survey and other available resources.

Primarily intended for event organizers, the guide also contains valuable information for everyone—including participating runners and spectators!

Organizing Responsible Events in Kainuu project in 2025

The guide has been published on our website as part of the Organizing Responsible Events in Kainuu project in 2025. The project is supported through the Piiparinmäki Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, operated by Nuveen Infrastructure.
